Passenger and freight railroad company servicing Southern Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. WSOR serves Winnebago County directly from its Horicon, WI terminal. Horicon is one of three main terminals on the WSOR system that the railroad operates. The other two are located in Madison, and Janesville. The rail line comes into Winnebago County from the south from Horicon. Winnebago County is located in eastern Wisconsin, just west of Lake Winnebago. |

Belmond to Forest City rail line gets a loan
Winnebago Cooperative Telecom Association has announced the approval by USDA Rural Development of a $600,000 interest-free loan to North Central Iowa Rail Corridor. The loan will allow NCIRC to purchase 27.6 miles of rail from Belmond to Forest City and to reconstruct a rail switch in Garner. |
