MOUNT VERNON, Ky. - Officials in south-central Kentucky say a firefighter has died after a train struck his truck at an unmarked railroad crossing. WKYT-TV in Lexington reported that the wreck happened about 9:30 a.m. EDT Friday near the tracks on StateHighway 1004, near Brush Creek. |
April 18 2012 - Berea Fire Fighters Mourning Loss of Their Own
The Berea Fire Department and Mount Vernon Fire Department lost one of their own Friday morning. 29-year-old Christopher Kerns was killed after his 2008 Chevy pickup truck collided with a CSX Freight Train just outside Mount Vernon.
