June 01 2011 - More than 800 Va. Guard members deploy to Iraq Units based in Hampton Roads, Fredericksburg and Christiansburg will train for 45 to 60 days before heading to Iraq. It hasn't happened in Virginia since World War II, but Wednesday, the largest single unit mobilization in the Virginia Army National Guard since the 1940s took place.
