California Zephyr faces further delays
Amtrak’s California Zephyr, which experienced a number of service disruptions in June because of flooding in the Omaha, Neb., area, is now looking at delays because of track work in Colorado. The eastbound California Zephyr provides service from Galesburg to Chicago daily, while the westbound train stops each day here on its way from Chicago to Emeryville, Calif., in the Oakland area. |

Amtrak Trains Delayed All Weekend, Investigation Continues into Friday's Deadly Crash
The California Zephyr makes as many as 6 trips daily between Chicago and Emeryville. As of Saturday night there were delays, and trains were being re-routed; but Sunday the Amtrak web site went silent. At this point it seems clear, as long as federal officials are probing the accident in the Nevada desert schedules are going to be off course. |
