Union Pacific Engine No. 844, a steam locomotive, arrived loaded with Civil War reenactors from all parts of the U.S. as it made its way through Missouri Tuesday afternoon, making brief stops in Boonville and Jefferson City. The train, bound for Marion, Ark., pulled into Union Pacific Depot in Jefferson City to greet onlookers for a little under an hour. |

Coroner: Bus crash injuries killed student, 5
The five-year-old student killed in a school bus accident died of crash injuries, the Marion County coroner said today. Donasty Smith suffered multiple blunt force injuries due to Monday's collision with a railroad overpass, according to a preliminary autopsy. |

Wyandotte teen, struck by train, wearing earphones
Wyandotte — A 14-year-old high school student is in critical condition after being struck by a train Tuesday. Police said Jacob Marion was walking on the tracks near Oak and Ninth Street about 4:30 p.m. when he was hit from behind by a train traveling about 28 mph. |

Boy, 14, hit by train in Wyandotte; injuries 'very serious'
A 14-year-old boy was struck by a train in Wyandotte today. Police identified him as Jacob Marion of Wyandotte. He was flown to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, where he was in surgery with "very serious injuries" just before 7:30 p.m., according to a news release from Wyandotte Police Chief Daniel Grant. |

Historic train to roll through area
A historic Union Pacific train is set to make a brief appearance in Eastern Jackson County in a few weeks. The company is celebrating its sesquicentennial this year, and “The Shiloh Limited” will make its way from Cheyenne, Wyo., to Marion, Ark., in late March. |
