Police ID Hornell man hit, killed by freight train
Authorities have released the name of the man who was hit and killed by a Canadian Pacific freight train in western New York last weekend. State police tell local media that 26-year-old Joshua Hudson of Hornell was struck by the eastbound train around 6:50 a.m. Sunday about a quarter-mile west of a crossing in the Allegany County village of Canaseraga, 50 miles south of Rochester. |

Suspects sought in thefts
The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office is seeking to identify two men allegedly involved in the theft of copper wire along CSX railroad tracks. According to Deputy Larry Bennett, the suspects are cutting the wire off lines that feed train switching signals. |
