Gymnastics: Area girls dream of Olympic gold
Mayzie Metzger makes the trip from her home in Tipton, Iowa, to train at The Gymnastic Spectrum in Davenport four times a week. She sprints down a long, narrow power tumbling mat, launches herself in the air, twisting and turning, then landing in a soft vinyl pit. She’s working to perfect her floor exercise routine. At 13, she said she hopes to become a college gymnast. |
