The city of Ocala announced Monday that it has received a $2.22 million federal grant allowing the city to realign the railroad tracks along Osceola Avenue from Southeast Third Street to Northeast Fifth Street. |

The city of Ocala has agreed in principle to an agreement with CSX Transportation Inc. that will give the railroad land to build a second track in Ocala in exchange for safer crossings and the ability to apply for a “quiet zone” where the train horns will not be sounded. |
